PAT DONOVAN
Pat DonovanPat Donovan grew up in Wareham Massachusetts a lifelong New York Giants, New York Mets and Los Angeles Lakers fan (it's a long story).
Shortly after moving to Tampa, Pat began his career in sports broadcasting co-hosting a couple of shows and covering sports in town including the Tampa Bay Devil Rays starting in 2007. Pat was so blown away with the amount of great young talent and great young men in the Rays clubhouse he quickly went from being an objective reporter to a fan of the Rays who was fortunate enough to cover this team he was quickly falling in love with. Pat spent the better part of 2007 agonizing while the Rays struggled but having a great time watching this young team grow before his eyes.
Outside of sports Pat's greatest passion is the men and women who serve our country in the United States armed forces. In 2007 Pat Donovan hosted Operation Wounded Warrior, a six hour radioathon to raise money for severely wounded troops through a charity called the Wounded Warrior Project along with Dave Ortiz, Mike Tyree and former colleague Steve Kyler.
Pat Donovan has co-hosted Buccaneer post game shows and draft specials each of the past three seasons including a draft special in 2007 co-hosted by Buccaneer running back Earnest Graham. Pat and Mike also hosted On Deck (The first radio show in Tampa focused only on Rays baseball) while at ESPN and again with 1010 CBS Sports. Pat and Mike also brought a unique look at sports and beer to CBS in 2009 with Sports News and Brews. Pat has also been a guest on radio shows across the country to talk about the rise of the Tampa Bay Rays and has been an occasional guest on B-sport, a national radio show in New Zealand.
Aside from his work with Tampa Live Sports and projects with Mke, Pat is now a Rays and Buccaneers beat writer for Creative Loafing.
